“I love to “play with colour and paint with wool”
I am a Textile artist based in South Wales, and I love to “play with colour and paint with wool”. The fibres I work with are soft merino wool and delicate Habotai silk. I use the process of felting to create unique, high quality scarves, neck-warmers, flower brooches, and hair clips, journal covers and bottle holders.
I love to use different colour combinations, often opposites, and either hand-dye silk scarves, which I sell as the finished piece, or using the hand-dyed silk, nuno-felt it together with merino wool to create a range of products. Each piece, by it’s very nature, is a one-off. Even if I try to replicate an item, the dyeing and felting process itself will result in a unique piece each time.
