Elizabeth Joy Owen

I started working in suede and leather at the age of 15, I designed and made leather coat in navy nappa leather. From the off cuts I was soon designing and making accessories, purses handbags and belts for my friends and I.

I continued my education to masters’ degree level always specialising in textiles in particular leatherwork. I have always spent much of my time designing and making leather and suede clothing and accessories for anyone who wanted them. My leatherwork is mainly made form sheepskin (nappa) leather, and pig suede, occasionally I use cow hide and goat skin for duffle bags and larger items. The softer leather and suedes lend themselves more easily to embroidered decoration.

Every item is individually designed and made by me, every one slightly different. The vibrant colours and individual details ensure no two bags are the same. They are ideal accessories for that special occasion. Bags and belts match perfectly as they come from the same skin of leather.

Commissions are welcome.

I have been exhibiting with Pembrokeshire Craft Makers since 1987, I am pleased to belong to such a supportive, friendly talented group of individuals.

Everything is made of Leather. Every item is designed and handmade with care by me Joy Owen, in West Wales. All items are individually made. No two items are exactly the same. I have a wide range of leather available and I am happy to take Commissions.
