Lagoon started in August 2009, as a hobby and has grown from there. I began by making beaded bracelet, earrings and necklaces and gave/ sold them to friends and family. With some encouragement, I started putting my jewellery into shops and going to craft shows . With my real interest in silver, I began a part time course in Swansea, and I now make most of my jewellery in sterling silver. I was brought up on a farm in Llangain, and I am now settled in Pontarddulais with my partner, children and boxers. I am registered with the Assay Office, anything over 7.6 grms has to be hallmarked, so anything under that weight isn’t hallmarked by myself as it’s a cost that needs to be passed on to the customer. If the customer wishes an item to be hallmarked, as long as they are happy to pay for the cost, this can be organised.
